Mara keeps the edition table and the paper ledgers. She came to covers from a decade of small-press distribution in the North East, where numbering arguments at tables taught her to write the fraction down twice.
The studio
A cover studio that still photographs the board
Module Pathcore exists because collectors kept asking small-press tables for Spider-Verse covers that were numbered, original, and not a scan of a newsstand variant. We took that request into a room on Pendwyallt Road and treated the digital edition as a cover job with a ledger, not as a listing that appears from nowhere.
Why Burradon, not a convention-only table
Mara Quinn spent years moving small-press comics through the North East. Numbering arguments at those tables — who held copy four, whether a reprint counted — made her insist on a paper ledger even when the cover itself would be minted. Rhys Calder already drew Spider-Verse fan covers on board; Nia Okeke was colouring small-press interiors in Newcastle. The three of them share one room so a costume decision is not emailed between cities.
We are not a Marvel house studio. The covers are original compositions in Spider-Verse costumes and cities. Collectors who want an official variant still go to the newsstand and the publisher. Collectors who want a limited digital cover with the fraction designed into a water tower come here.
How a sitting actually feels
Boards hang on clips. Colour proofs are printed at cover size and taped beside the monitor. Unpublished drops are not photographed. If you commission, you will see two pencil directions before anyone inks. If you only want to look, book a studio viewing; the £40 is waived when a commission follows within a month.
What we will not pretend
We do not promise that a minted cover will rise in value. We do promise that the edition size locked at inks is the edition size on the ledger, and that a twenty-sixth file of the same composition will not be issued.
Who you meet
Rhys Calder
Rhys draws Spider-Verse figures on board before any file is made. His line favours weight in the hands and in the webbing, and he will redraw a mask lens rather than leave a continuity error in a pair.
Nia Okeke
Nia flats and finishes colour, then places the edition bug so it belongs to the street, not the margin. She prints a cover-size proof for every drop, even though the edition itself is digital.
